On October 5, under the slogan “All united for the environment” , more than 240 MAPFRE participants, including managers, employees and family members, gathered on various beaches, forests and parks throughout different States of the Republic. to restore and reforest degraded areas and collect garbage in needy areas.
In Mexico City, the cleaning of the Centennial Garden of Coyoacán and its surroundings was organized, while in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Reynosa of the Loma Bonita Sports Unit, the Huasteca Ecological Park and Cultural Park, respectively. In Mérida, Villahermosa and Veracruz, the most emblematic beaches of the regions were cleaned, collecting a total of 1,750 kilos of garbage. Additionally, in Puebla, Chihuahua, Tijuana and Querétaro, the reforestation of various spaces was organized, planting a total of 53 trees.
“We are proud of the results of the MAPFRE Chile Mobile Number List volunteer program, seeing how year after year the number of collaborators interested in becoming agents of change is greater, drives us to continue and reinforce activities that achieve improvements in our society” mentioned Jesús Martínez, CEO MAPFRE Mexico and CEO MAPFRE LATAM North.
During 2019, more than 870 people joined the volunteer program, making up close to 40% of the Group's total workforce in Mexico, carrying out 89 activities throughout the year, ranging from organizing food collections to carrying out maintenance on facilities, managing to benefit around 12,600 people, including children, adolescents, people with disabilities, the elderly, people at risk of social exclusion, sick people and society in general.
These activities put on the agenda the importance of companies, whether large or small, coming together and carrying out activities that help improve the living conditions of those who need it most and contribute to the care of the environment.
Thanks to the work of the volunteers during these three years, MAPFRE and the Foundation have managed to position themselves as a reference in issues of social responsibility, and although the challenges are enormous, action with action can bring great progress, which together result in benefits for everyone. .
